Scuff Resistance Tester

A Scuff Resistance Tester is a tool used to measure the resistance of a material, typically a coating or finish, to scuffing or abrasion. The tester typically consists of a sample holder, a rotating abrasion wheel, and a mechanism to measure the weight loss or wear of the material being tested. It is based on standard ASTM F2497-05.

The scuff resistance tester works by rubbing the surface of the material being tested against an abrasion wheel under a specific load and speed, simulating the wear and tear that the material will experience in real-world usage. The weight loss or wear of the material is measured and recorded, and the results are typically given in terms of the number of cycles or revolutions required to cause a specific amount of wear.
